Instructions

  • Soak the cedar plank for at least 1 hour in water.
  • Combine the brown sugar, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper in a small mixing bowl.
  • The salmon fillet should be rubbed with olive oil before being coated with the spice mixture.
  • Place the cedar plank on a preheated grill or smoker for 5 minutes to warm up.
  • Place the cedar plank with the salmon fillet on it on the grill or smoker.
  • Close the lid and smoke the salmon for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
